Unoesc Academic Doctorate Program in Administration is the first in the West of Santa Catarina, in the Southwest of Paraná and in the Northwest of Rio Grande do Sul. Its research fields are theoretical and empirical studies delimited by the specific cut of its lines of research. With this, it intends to investigate issues related to competitiveness, sustainability and entrepreneurship, generating high level of knowledge, capable of contributing to the sustainable development of individuals, organizations and territories, as well as to advance the knowledge of the Area.

General objective:

Develop research that contributes to the advancement of science in the fields of sustainability and competitiveness.

Specific objectives:

  • Produce knowledge for the development of the field of sustainability, entrepreneurship and territorial dynamics;
  • Generate knowledge for the development of the field of strategy, competitiveness and performance;
  • Promote the training of researchers from high epistemological and methodological levels.

Profile of graduates

The graduate on this Academic Doctor’s Degree in Administration will be able to:

  • Understand complex environments in the light of theoretical and methodological approaches in the context of sustainability and competitiveness;
  • Apply advanced theoretical-methodological approaches in research related to sustainability and competitiveness.
  • Contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the areas of sustainability and competitiveness.

Description: The area of ​​concentration Sustainability and Competitiveness investigates factors related to the organizational and territorial contexts, associated with the development, competitiveness and performance of enterprises, organizations and territories. The production of knowledge is based on two complementary lines: one focused on sustainability, entrepreneurship and territorial dynamics, and another focused on strategy and competitiveness.

Line 01: Sustainability, entrepreneurship and territorial dynamics
Description: this line includes sustainability studies and their influence on territorial dynamics, considering the economic, environmental, social, cultural, political, and institutional aspects in organizational and territorial contexts. It investigates themes associated with entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship orientation, innovation, innovation habitats, cooperation, sustainable operations and chains, the spatialization of economic activities, and regional asymmetries.

Line 02: Strategy and Competitiveness
Description: This line comprises studies on the competitiveness of organizations and business sectors, with emphasis on the formulation and practice of strategy, and the identification and measurement of competitive advantage and organizational performance, investigating aspects that influence Competitiveness, such as organizations' resources, capabilities and competencies, market and transaction governance structures, and processes related to competitiveness, such as innovation, cooperation, stakeholders, strategic behavior, and the manager's role in management Strategy.
